I then deleted all printers from my computer and then unplugged and restarted the printer.įor the heck of it, I decided to upgrade to 21.10 right afterwards and the printer just worked.I then ran sudo apt remove ipp-usb Upgrade to whichever version you want using the built in software updater.The printer now works but I wanted to upgrade to Ubuntu 21.04 today (which I assume the following would work for any upgrade).
Next I deleted all printers from my computer and then unplugged and restarted the printer.I immediately ran sudo apt remove ippusbxd.The original release, not the 20.04.03 version currently out. So I had this problem for awhile and tried many of the solutions posted above but they just didn't work for me (as written) but I was able to mix and match them to come up with this solution.
